Highlands County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, release anyone, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the government office that owns the record.

Choose the Correct Records Office

The Highlands County Sheriff's Office operates the county jail, but its main records office and jail have separate addresses and phone lines. Central Records handles retained HCSO reports and county jail booking-record requests. The jail information line addresses current jail matters. Office staff can also tell a requester when another agency created the report and must receive the request.

Match the question to the custodian below. A city arrest report, county booking sheet, court disposition, and state-prison profile are separate records, even when they concern the same person.

  • Current custody, release status, or an alert: use the official HCSO inmate feed and call the jail information line when a new intake has not yet appeared. The county booking search explains the web record and app-only current photo policy. Florida VINE can provide custody notifications where the record and facility participate.
  • Booking sheet or retained jail photo: request it from HCSO Central Records. Ordinary accident or offense reports cost $0.15 per page when research takes less than 15 minutes; more work can add labor, and certified copies cost $1 per page. Ask for a quote because no separate booking-photo price is published.
  • City police report: contact Sebring Police Support Services for an SPD-created report or Lake Placid Police for an LPPD-created report. Avon Park's current law-enforcement service comes from HCSO. HCSO does not supply reports created by another police agency or the Florida Highway Patrol.
  • Court filing or final outcome: use the Highlands County Clerk of Courts. The clerk's criminal file, not the jail feed, carries later filings, hearings, judgments, and disposition.
  • State prison or Florida supervision: search the Florida Department of Corrections Offender Network. It covers people within FDC custody or supervision, not everyone arrested in Highlands County.
  • Warrant verification: call the HCSO Judicial Process, Civil, and Warrants Unit at 863-402-7351. The sheriff's wanted features and a tip line are not substitutes for official warrant verification.
  • Federal or immigration custody: use the Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator. Neither is a source for a routine Highlands County jail booking or state court disposition.
